Things worth returning to.

What I've read, watched, played, and listened to, and the things I might want to return to. This is a shelf, not a perfect ledger.

Following a favorite

Why not start with Nightwing?

I just did a deep dive into how comics work, and it's been pretty fun. Nightwing is my favorite character and superhero, so I've started at Rebirth and I'm reading forward through the main series.

He's already my favorite. Why not start there?

A note on getting into comics ↗

The comics shelf

2 finished · 7 on the list

Hush and The Black Mirror are finished. Morrison's Batman & Robin is next, then the Absolute runs. I'm reading Seeley's Nightwing now, with the plan to keep going as the writers change. The covers here represent the runs, not the whole list.

Batman: Hush cover
Finished

Batman: Hush

Jeph Loeb's Batman story

Batman #608–61912 main-series issues · complete

Read this when I was a kid. I don't really remember much of it now.

Batman & Robin: Batman Reborn cover
Up next

Batman & Robin

Grant Morrison's run

Batman & Robin (2009) #1–1616 main-series issues · complete

Batman: The Return #1 is an additional companion one-shot.

Next on my list, starting with Batman Reborn. More Dick Grayson as Batman, this time in Morrison's run.

Absolute Batman cover
Planned

Absolute Batman

Scott Snyder's run

Absolute Batman #1–2323 main-series issues · ongoing

Published through #23 as of September 6, 2026.

Another Snyder title after The Black Mirror. I'm planning to start at #1 and follow the run.

Nightwing Vol. 1: Better Than Batman cover
Reading · Issue 11

Nightwing

Tim Seeley's run · Rebirth

Nightwing #1–34 + Rebirth #135 issues in this reading span · complete

Includes guest-written issues. The pictured first collection contains Rebirth #1 and #1–4, #7–8.

I'm reading Seeley's Rebirth run now. I want to keep going through the main series as the writers change.

Nightwing Vol. 5: Time of the Titans cover
Planned

Nightwing

Tom Taylor's run

Nightwing #78–11841 main-series issues · complete

The pictured Time of the Titans collection contains #101–105, five issues within the run.

Part of the longer read through Nightwing, before Watters' run. Time of the Titans is the cover shown here, not where the run starts.

Nightwing Vol. 1: On With the Show cover
Planned

Nightwing

Dan Watters' run

Nightwing #119–14123 main-series issues · ongoing

Published through #141 as of September 6, 2026. On With the Show collects #119–124.

A later stretch of the same Nightwing series, not the next stop after Seeley. I want to read the runs in between, too.

Issue counts describe the main-series reading spans, including guest contributions, not just issues credited to the named writer. Annuals, specials, and crossover issues in other titles aren't counted unless listed. Nightwing #35–77 sits between Seeley and Taylor and is still part of my plan to read through the series. Ongoing counts checked September 6, 2026; issue ranges link to publisher details.

Maybe later

6 possibilities · no rush

Ultimate Spider-Man and Absolute Flash would be at the top of this list. The others don't interest me as much currently, but I wanted a place for the rest of the Absolute titles. Batman, Wonder Woman, and Superman are still on the main shelf above. We'll see with these.

I've heard good things. The character isn't pulling me in an insane amount right now, though.
